New England's alpine aristocrat — the Front Four are the East's benchmark steeps, Mansfield's trees are deep and serious, and the town is postcard Vermont. When it snows, this is the best skiing east of the Rockies.
The Epic anchor in the East. Notch weather is fickle, and the trees ski better than the trails in wind. The town-to-mountain shuttle beats parking. Expensive by Vermont standards, but worth one proper February trip.
