Odds count natural snowfall only. At snowmaking-dependent resorts, early-season cover can be fine in a low-natural-snow year.

Field notes
Seattle's night-skiing factory — four base areas along I-90, with Alpental as the crown jewel: consequential, genuinely steep terrain off Chair 2's back bowls that outclasses everything else at the pass.
Ikon coverage includes Alpental — that's the target; skip the other three areas unless lapping night park. Less than an hour from Seattle means constant crowds, and storm-day line culture at Chair 2 is intense. The low elevation makes rain the ever-present risk.

These are historical odds from the last 20 winters — not a forecast. Inside 16 days of a trip, a forecast is the better instrument; beyond that, counting real seasons is the honest play. Every number on this page is quoted under methodology v1.2.0, the same math we grade ourselves against in public.
