Field notes
North Idaho's big quiet one — bowls and trees above Lake Pend Oreille with sightlines to three states. Selkirk snow runs deeper than the marketing, and the two-bowl layout skis bigger than the map.
Sandpoint, just below, is a lakeside gem of a base town. Fog and 'Panhandle concrete' interludes are the honest caveats. Spokane is the airport, about an hour and a half out.
