Field notes
Rossland's pride — descents off every side of Granite Mountain, some of the best lift-served tree skiing anywhere, and an inbounds cat-skiing add-on. Gritty, steep, historic (Canada's first downhill race), and gloriously uncorporate.
Getting there is the moat: Spokane is the practical airport, a long drive out. Rossland is a genuine mountain town. Tickets stay cheap and crowds stay thin — for a trees-and-steeps rider, it's among the best in Canada.
