Field notes
Thousands of lift- and cat-served acres of mostly ungroomed, mostly empty terrain — Powder Mountain sells solitude at scale. Lightning Ridge cat laps and the Cobabe Canyon trees are the draws; the pitch is moderate, but the snow stays soft for days.
Ticket caps mean powder days don't track out — the anti-Cottonwoods. The layout is upside-down: you park on top. Eden and the Ogden Valley hold limited lodging; Ogden works fine.
