Field notes
The Continental Divide as a ski area — high ridgeline terrain served by Chair 9 and free snowcat laps along the Divide, plus wide-open basin skiing below. Wind-buffed, cold, high, and utterly unpretentious.
First area west of the Eisenhower Tunnel and a Power Pass partner mountain. Day-use only — stay in Georgetown or Dillon. It opens in October and closes in May, and the early- and late-season value is exceptional. Wind is the weather story; check it before driving up.
