Vail's manicured neighbor — escalators to the snow, cookies at three o'clock, and quietly serious terrain behind the concierge image: Birds of Prey's World Cup pitch, the Stone Creek Chutes, and Grouse Mountain's sustained bumps.
Same access corridor as Vail, a few miles further west, meaningfully fewer people. It sits on the Epic Pass. The village is premium-priced; Avon at the bottom of the access road is the value play. The groomer product on Grouse and Larkspur is among the best anywhere in the state.
